We manage the cooking, the cleaning, the finances, the kids, EVERYTHING, all while trying to find time to sleep and squeeze 10 minutes in our day to take a shower in peace. (HA! Yeah, right.)
It’s a LOT to keep up with, so it’s no wonder why some days feeling exhausted and overwhelmed is a complete understatement.
The truth is, just because you CAN do all the things doesn’t mean that you should do all the things.
In fact, I’m here to help you overcome (what I like to call) the Superwoman Syndrome so that you can take back control of your house, your life, and find more time to do the things your heart desires…without feeling guilty about it.
You see, five years ago, I thought I had motherhood and managing a home all figured out when I quit my job to stay at home with my kids until BAM!—I had baby #3 and all hell broke loose.
In a matter of months, I went from being a neat freak to being a total HOT mess. I was leaving dishes in the sink for a week, our money was super tight, my kids were creating artwork on my walls, I had expired food in my pantry and wet laundry sitting in the washer for days that I completely forgot about.
Losing control of my house (and my life) sent me into a deep, dark depression. Because every day I was putting my own needs lasts, not getting enough sleep, juggling my home and everything else I had going on in life…and I was drowning.
That’s when I knew something had to give, so I started simplifying EVERYTHING.
I finally let go of the idea that I needed to be superwoman—that I needed to have it all together all the time and do it ALL by myself. Then, I started creating simple systems and automated routines that took my home management strategy to a whole netha’ level!
With my simple home management strategy in place, I was getting dinner on the table every night from my clean kitchen (instead of from the drive-thru), sticking to a budget, and I had extra time for things that I NEVER had time to do before (like attend little league games and practices with my kids, have date nights with my husband, and start this amazing blog!) while raising four wild little boys!
So if I can do this, you can too!
My mission with the Simplifying Homemaking blog is to help you manage your home without losing your mind. I am SUPER passionate about helping you save your time, money, and your sanity!!!
